This is our suggested itinerary for a 7 day Norway yacht charter:

Day 1: Bergen>Finden, 100 nm
Your charter starts in Bergen, Known as the A “Gateway to the Fjords”, this waterside city has a spectacular setting ringed by seven mountains. Before departure you may wish to explore this cultural gateway to the fjords. Bergen was founded in 1070 AD, and has retained a great deal of local character and history.

Day 2: Finden>Flam 45nm
Flam is situated at the innermost bank of the Aurlandsfjord, surrounded by steep mountains, thundering waterfalls and narrow valleys. It is easy to reach by yacht, there are a number of ships and yachts docked in the Flam Harbour during the spring and summer months. Go on a journey with the Flam Railway – along the way, you’ll see rivers cutting through deep ravines, waterfalls cascading down the sides of steep, snow-capped mountains, and mountain farms clinging to steep hillsides.

Day 3: Flam > Naeroyfjord (20 nm)
The Naeroyfjord, a UNESCO Heritage, is the narrowest and best known of the many arms of the Sognefjord. With its steep mountainsides, hanging valleys, towering peaks, snowfields, waterfalls and small hamlets, this fjord is perhaps the most outstanding natural attraction in Norway. The surrounding mountains reach heights of 1,660 metres.

Day 4: Naeroyfjord to Lusterfjord (30 nm)
The landscape around the Lusterfjord is very picturesque, enjoy a cruising along this unique beauty of its scenery, pampered by your crew. Most of the year the Lusterfjord is a beautiful bright green colour because of the meltwater from the glaciers that flows into the fjord.

Day 5: Lusterfjord – Fjaerland (65 nm) – Balestrand (15 nm)
Fjaerlandfjord, surrounded with impressive high rocky mountains, small waterfalls and the nearby glacier arms – breathtaking views to cruise. Proceed to Balestrand, a picturesque town situated at the shores of the majestic Sognefjord in Norway. The twon has inspired artists from all over the world with its natural landscapes and wonderful light. Nestled around the high mountains and deep fjords, you’ll find traces of English and German architecture in its villas. In the summer months, several galleries and exhibitions celebrate the art inspired by Balestrand.

Day 6: Balestrand > Gulen (45 nm)
Another beautiful day with amazing landscapes awaits.
Gulen is home to the Gulatinget, which was one of the oldest and largest parliamentary assemblies in medieval Norway. Gulen surrounds Gulafjorden, which considered to be the place where Norway’s west coastal Vikings met at the Gulating, a governing body. Indulge in an authentic Viking feast dressed in full Viking costume, whilst listening to tales of the area. The coastline also offers great possibilities for diving.

Day 7: Gulen>Bergen 55nm
As one of the the world’s most beautiful charters draws to an end, you can spend the remaining time, taking in the beautiful sights one last time before disembarking the vessel.
The Captain can organize kayaking, sea rafting, horse-and-buggy rides and a tour of a Norwegian fish farm. He can also arrange for guests to see the fjords, mountains, waterfalls and glaciers from a helicopter or seaplane.
